little golfer figureOn Friday, October 22, the Heron Creek Community Foundation (HCCF) will be holding its annual golf tournament.  This is our largest fundraising event of the year and the net proceeds generate a substantial amount of the Grant Awards funds presented each fall.  Last year, our Foundation was able to award $57,000 to charities that serve the needs of many residents, young and old, in North Port. 

Your support will make this year’s event a success and help to fund our next round of grants.  Listed below are two ways you can contribute.  Choose one or both – your support will be greatly appreciated.

   1. Participate in the event -- Form a team and enjoy a great day while contributing to a wonderful cause.

   2. Become a Sponsor -- We offer a number of ways to become a sponsor for the tournament from being a Supporter, a Bronze Sponsor which includes a hole sign, or or sponsorships that include your registration fees, hole sign and more.  See our brochure for details.

In addition, volunteers are required to assist in making the tournament a success.  Please contact Jack Steinkirchner (717-413-3443) if you wish to volunteer for the tournament.

Below is a brochure that provides a summary of the event and includes a registration form and instructions to reserve your participation and/or your sponsorship.  You can also register on this website -www.heroncreekfoundation.org  by clicking “2021 Golf Tournament Registration” under the Fund Raiser tab at the top.  You can pay by credit card on the website or turn in your registration at the pro shop along with your check.  If you prefer, just give one of us a call and we will arrange to pick up your check.  We want to make it very easy for you to participate and to contribute to our foundation.

Above is the announcement of our 2021 Golf Tournament, which will be held on Friday, October 22 at Heron Creek and a brochure describing the full event.  We wanted to release this announcement before our neighbors that return north for the summer leave Heron Creek so you can arrange your foursome before you depart and reserve your spot in the tournament.  Many of you will be returning shortly before our tournament date and we do not want you to miss this year’s event.


We will follow the COVID guidelines that will be in place when we host the tournament to ensure everyone’s safety.  If the guidelines allow group gatherings, we will have morning tee times for our tournament and have a luncheon following golf to award prizes, etc.  For those that may still be uncomfortable being with a large group for the luncheon, we still want you to participate, and will give you the option to receive a $25 Heron Creek Gift Card which you can use whenever you choose instead of participating at the luncheon.  If the guidelines restrict large groups, we will follow the format we used last year and schedule tee times for each team and issue all participants a $25 Heron Creek Gift Card in lieu of a luncheon.

As a special feature this year, one of the gift items for all participants will be a personalized golf towel including their name printed on the towel.  We will need to finalize our list of players in each foursome by October 1 to allow time to have the towels available the day of the tournament.
