As previously announced, our annual fundraising golf tournament will be held on Friday, October 22, 2021.  We will have morning tee times on two nines and the event includes a breakfast sandwich before golf, gift bag items (including a personalized golf towel for each participant) and a plated lunch in the main dining room (or outside/take out) following golf.

little golfer figureOn Friday, October 22, the Heron Creek Community Foundation (HCCF) will be holding its annual golf tournament.  This is our largest fundraising event of the year and the net proceeds generate a substantial amount of the Grant Awards funds presented each fall.  Last year, our Foundation was able to award $57,000 to charities that serve the needs of many residents, young and old, in North Port.

We are very sorry to have to advise that the Dupree’s Concert, which was twice-postponed due to the Covid 19 pandemic, has been canceled.  We received word from the Duprees that the COVID virus has caused them to cancel all their commitments through 2022, and there is considerable uncertainty about them ever getting back together,  Those who have previously purchased tickets will be contacted.  .

You Came Through Again!
This year, All Faith’s Food Bank had asked HCCF to shift the annual Heron Creek Community Foundation Food Drive to a FUND DRIVE.  The Fund Drive ran from Monday, February 8 until Friday, February 12 and was very successful.

This year, focusing on the more critical needs of the citizens resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, HCCF awarded grants to

Bryce M Class of 2020Where do your dollars go?  The Board is pleased to support Take Stock in Children.  The 2019 Grant supported and paid for the 6th mentoring and full four-year post-secondary scholarship.  This program seeks out students from families that have few or no previous college graduates.  Show to the left is Bryce Muniz, a 2016 recipient who graduated from North Port High School in 2020.

Where do your grant dollars go?   The Board is pleased to support the North Port Chamber Teen Court NEW2North Port Teen Court Program and its D-Fy drug prevention program.  The 2019 grant was used to purchase 500 drug testing kits for our teen community.

The HCCF Board of Directors is extending an invitation to jump on the band wagon and feel the joy of being involved with an institution whose sole purpose is "giving back" to help those in need in the North Port community.   These days, due to many factors like Red Tide and low wages, many North Port families are in need.
