Once again, the Heron Creek Foundation’s annual fundraiser to end summer hunger, sponsored by the All-Faiths Food Bank, was a tremendous success. Thanks to the outstanding work by volunteers from each of our 16 neighborhoods and the unwavering generosity of our Heron Creek residents, the Foundation will be able to extend a sizable grant to the All Faiths Food Bank again in 2025. These dedicated volunteers collected a grand total of $17,510, which surpasses our 2024 contribution to the annual “End Summer Hunger” campaign. Furthermore, this year’s campaign has a philanthropic sponsor who is matching any donation up to $1 million, which means that our total contribution will be $35,020.
According to the All-Faiths website, the 2024 campaign fed 35,398 children with 3,353,000 meals, and our contributions this year will help provide literally thousands of meals this summer through the school distribution centers in North Port. This achievement helps fuel The Heron Creek Foundation’s mission to enhance the quality of life for our North Port neighbors in need. On behalf of those who will benefit from the generosity of the Heron Creek Community, we would like to thank all of the volunteers who helped with this project and above all we want to thank those who donated to this worthwhile cause.
These are exciting times for our community and your Heron Creek Foundation. If you are not a member, we encourage you to consider joining. Your $100 annual, tax-deductible membership means more and contributes more than you would think. Our collective giving model turns your $100 donation into very significant and meaningful dollars for many charitable organizations throughout North Port. Last year, we donated over $103,000 to 15 different organizations and boy does that make us feel good!!!!
