September 2022 Newsletter

It is Grant Application time! The notice for non-profits to submit their applications for a grant has gone out, and all applications must be into the Grants Committee by September 15. The applications will be evaluated, site visits made, and recommendations will be presented to the Board for approval in October.

The Golf Tournament Committee is busy with final preparations.   They are putting the “fun” in Fundraising and are hoping for a successful tournament. The tournament includes golf, lunch at the turn, complimentary drinks on the course, and hole-in-one opportunities. Back this year is the silent auction with many exciting items up for bid. The post golf gathering will be pool side with a cash bar, and hors de oeuvres.

The Nominating Committee is looking for members to serve on the Board of Directors. Those wishing to get involved and help support agencies serving the people of North Port are welcome to join the Board. Contact Mary Bowersock at  Bowersock@outlook.com if interested or have any questions.

Mark your calendar for the second Holiday Home Tour scheduled for Sunday, December 4th.   The tour was such a hit last year with many visitors commenting it got them in the Holiday spirit. It promises to be another fun day to get some holiday cheer.

The Board of Directors wishes to extend its heartfelt sympathy to the family of Gil Swain who passed away. Gil was part of the initial group that established the Foundation over eleven years ago, and Ona Lee Swain is currently serving on the Board of Directors. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Be a good neighbor and help improve the lives of those around you.
