Quarterly Update
Heron Creek Neighbors,
Your Heron Creek Community Foundation has been hard at work this past quarter, preparing for another successful year in our North Port community.
I would like to introduce our new Directors for 2022.
They all bring a wealth of knowledge and passion to our Foundation, and I am confident that they will make a positive impact this year and in the future.
We hosted our first “HCCF Open House” at the home of Ron and Mary Bowersock. New residents were able to meet our board of directors, learn about our foundation and hear from Lexi McKenney, Executive Director, First Tee, on the North Port program. We are happy to report some of those new members joined on the spot that evening! Stay tuned for information on future open house gatherings.
Our Service Committee, once again, supported the All-Faith’s Food Fund Drive and collected $15,340 from our very generous HC community. A huge “Thank You” to Marilyn Kosiorek, her committee and neighborhood volunteers who made this possible. This is a fantastic way to start our 2022 funding for those in need.
Our Grants Committee has already begun the follow-up and site visit programs with our 2021 Grant Recipients and are impressed and grateful for the impact those charitable organizations are making in our community. Ron & Mary Bowersock and Holly Loos participated in the Take Stock in Children “Celebration of Hope” graduation ceremony for our two North Port Seniors. Azure Heck on the left below and Camila Palenque on the right will both be attending college next year due in part to the $4000 scholarships from HCCF.
Our Resource & Development Committee is already hard a work on the 12th Annual Foundation Golf Tournament to be held on October 21st, 2022, and to host the 2022 Holiday Home Tour on December 4th 2022. More information to follow in the upcoming months.
